The Essentially You Inc team are both humbled and thrilled to be nominated for the 2019 Award of Excellence in Brain Injury Rehabilitation. Maxine is a Registered Clinical Social Worker and founder of Essentially You Inc. She has over 26 years of Social Work, Senior Social Services Management, Case Management and business leadership experience. Maxine has worked across the spectrum of health care including the former Community Care Access Centre (CCAC), hospital rehabilitation, mental health and long term care settings. She holds a Masters Degree in Social Work, Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree in Social Work and is also a Certified Social Work Practice Teacher.

Maxine founded Essentially You Inc in 2008 based on her extensive management experience and knowledge of navigating health care and rehabilitation services in both Canada and England. Essentially You Inc specializes in providing Attendant Care/Personal Support Worker services to clients and families throughout Ontario. For over a decade the Essentially You Inc philosophy of matching the best fit PSW for the client, exemplifies the dedication and quality of care received by individuals and families every day.

In addition to leading the Essentially You team, this past year Maxine played an instrumental role with the Ontario Rehabilitation Association in the successful Attendant Care rate lobbying with FSCO.

The Essentially You Inc team are committed to giving back to the community through fundraising, volunteering and raising awareness to the needs of individuals and families living with a brain injury and serious MVA injuries. We support the Eden Community Food For Change and Cambridge Food Bank in preparing hot meals for community members in need throughout the year. Maxine is also a triathlete and avid marathon runner. For the past few years she has used her passion for long distance running through proactive involvement in fund raising events that support brain injury community organizations.

    Social Workers provide tremendous support to the healthcare team and patients’ families. Stacey goes above and beyond that expectation with each patient/healthcare interaction. Stacey’s compassion makes it easy for her to connect with patient’s family whether it is drafting letters or identifying the best places to park downtown or finding a place to eat or rest. Stacey’s compassion also extends to members of the healthcare team, especially the nursing team. Stacey checks in to ensure that the nurse is ok and addresses concerns identified. Stacey is certainly deserving of this honour.
