Marek Siekanowicz

Marek Siekanowicz is a registered physiotherapist who is currently the owner and Clinic Director of Advance Physiotherapy Clinic in Brampton, Ontario. Marek obtained his Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Science in 1987 from Poznan University in Poland. He practiced physiotherapy in Poland for 10 years, including at a paediatric centre for children who had sustained CP, TBI, and other neurological disorders. After immigrating to Canada in 1997, he worked as a Rehabilitation Coach with patients suffering from TBI while simultaneously preparing to obtain his physiotherapy license in Canada. He became a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association in 2002 and afterwards provided physiotherapy services at Ontario physiotherapy clinics for several years prior to opening Advance Physiotherapy Clinic in 2006.

Marek has completed international certifications in Neuro-Developmental Treatment (N.D.T.-Bobath): Neurophysiotherapy and Baby Extension. Over his 25+ year career he has worked extensively with adult and paediatric clients who have sustained severe orthopaedic and/or neurological disorders and injuries, including TBI, ABI, CP, limb amputations and more, both MVA-related and non-MVA related. Marek’s primary specialty is in the field of neurophysiotherapy and he continues to further his education on brain injury rehabilitation through various workshops and conferences.

Marek is passionate about providing the best care and rehabilitation for his clients and their families who have undergone traumatic injuries and events. He strives to help improve their quality of life through giving physiotherapy treatment specific to their different rehabilitation needs, not only in a clinical setting but also through community-based rehabilitation, including aquatic physiotherapy and gym-exercise intervention. Marek is a strong advocate for his clients as they navigate life after brain injury, using his extensive knowledge after many years of training and experience and collaborating with other rehabilitation providers to maximize his clients’ recovery and wellness.

Outside of work Marek enjoys sports and leading an active lifestyle outdoors.
