Jessica Trier

Nominated For: HEALTH CARE PROVIDER OF THE YEAR

Jessica Trier is a Physiatrist (specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation) and Medical Director of the Acquired Brain Injury Rehabilitation program at Providence Care Hospital in Kingston, Ontario. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and Program Director for the PM&R residency training program.

With 12 years of experience in ABI rehabilitation, she strives to provide person-centered care to people with acquired brain injuries from across the Southeastern Ontario region. She helps advocate for people with ABI on an individual level, with a recent example of co-developing a fast-track referral process for inpatient rehabilitation so people do not have to wait in acute care for a rehabilitation bed if they are able to wait at home.

She has also contributed to systems-level advocacy for people with acquired brain injuries, including co-developing and participating in three regional collaboratives to address unmet needs for people with ABI, mental health conditions, and/or substance use disorders.

She is grateful to be able to collaborate with an exceptional interprofessional team to support her patients.
