JDOT has helped thousands of individuals with concussion and brain injury reclaim their independence, return to work and school, and improve their quality of life. Through its robust and accessible virtual care model, JDOT ensures that individuals in underserved and remote communities receive timely, evidence-based care. A standout initiative includes its partnerships with Family Health Teams, which have significantly increased access to concussion care for individuals who may not otherwise receive the support they need.
JDOT’s impact goes beyond client care. The team is a driving force in professional education, mentorship, and systems-level change. They have supervised numerous occupational therapy students, mentored international trainees, and led national initiatives–including online training programs that have equipped hundreds of OTs across Canada with advanced concussion management skills. JDOT also plays a meaningful academic role through its affiliation with the University of Toronto’s Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy, where founder Jenni Diamond serves as Adjunct Lecturer, contributing to clinical education and professional development across the field.

Through partnerships with schools, the company has conducted policy reviews, delivered staff training, and developed practical tools to help educators better support students recovering from concussion. JDOT regularly collaborates with brain injury associations and concussion support groups to provide workshops, resources, and expert guidance to individuals and families navigating the complexities of concussion recovery. Their educational platform, @the.concussion.ots on Instagram, reaches a wide audience with accessible, evidence-informed strategies.
JDOT’s leadership and innovation have been recognized with prestigious honours, including the University of Toronto OT Alumni Achievement Award (2023) and the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists Award for Leadership in Occupational Therapy (2025).
