Nominated For: 2014

Melamed Palmer Inc., Innovative Rehab (formerly Beverlee C. Melamed & Associates Inc., Innovative Rehab), is proud to be nominated for Rehabilitation Company of the Year in Brain Injury Rehabilitation for 2022.

Beverlee C. Melamed has over 45 years of experience as an occupational therapist and has been working in the brain injury community for the past 30 years. Aaron Palmer started as an occupational therapy student in 2017 and Beverlee recognized his potential and was able to fulfill her goal of taking in a younger partner. The partnership has been active since November 2020, with Beverlee and Aaron continuing to share the company’s philosophies and beliefs.

For over 20 years, the team at Melamed Palmer Inc., have been committed to our work, providing client/family centered services and engaging them in their care through co-creation and collaboration. Our staff, from the occupational therapists, rehabilitation coaches, and administrative support continue to work as an intimate, tight, and creative team. Our team is highly committed to their work, with some of our staff having been with us for 15-20 years! Our staff are constantly improving their skills and adding to their credentials by participating in training programs (e.g., BrainFx, BEARS – Brain Enhance and Recovery System, C-CAT, CCLCP – Canadian Certified Life Care Planner) and continuing education courses (e.g., OBIA/Brock University Certificate Training Program), attending conferences and events, attending and presenting at our monthly staff meetings, as well through working in the brain injury community. Our commitment to providing services extends beyond clinical practice, with our staff participating in events and volunteering with our local brain injury associations. Beverlee and Aaron are active members of the Ontario Rehab Alliance (ORA), and Aaron is currently a Brain Injury Society of Toronto (BIST) committee member. Beverlee won Volunteer of the Year for BIST several years ago and both Beverlee and Aaron have presented with ORA and BIST.

Beverlee was nominated for the Award of Excellence in Brain Injury Rehabilitation for Health Care Provider of the Year for 2017 and 2018. She is also the recipient of this award for 2018. We are extremely honoured to be nominated for Rehabilitation Company of the Year in Brain Injury Rehabilitation for 2022 and for the recognition of the hard work and dedication of our staff over the years. The resiliency of our team over the past few years, especially with the many challenges we all faced is truly commendable. These past years have marked a period of growth for our company. The support provided to our clients never wavered and our team has always been willing to adapt with each challenge thrown their way. This nomination is a testament to all their hard work and support they provide to our clients on a daily basis. We are grateful to be a part of and work within the brain injury community. We would also like to thank our clients for trusting us with their care and allowing us to be part of their rehabilitation journey.

Thank you to all those who took the time to nominate our company, along with Ontario Brain Injury Association (OBIA) and PIA Law for the nomination and support. We would also like to take this time to congratulate all companies and rehabilitation workers nominated this year. We thank you for your dedication and support for the brain injury community!
