Thank you OBIA and the member firms of PIA Law for this wonderful recognition. On behalf of the Essentially You Inc team, I am humbled and absolutely thrilled to be nominated for the 2023 Award of Excellence in Brain Injury Rehabilitation – Rehabilitation Company of the Year award.
Essentially You Inc was founded by Maxine in 2008 based on her extensive management experience and knowledge of navigating healthcare and rehabilitation services in Canada and England. Maxine has 30 years of Social Work, Senior Social Services Management, Case Management, and business leadership experience. She has worked across the spectrum of healthcare including; the former Community Care Access Centre (CCAC), hospital rehabilitation, mental health, and long-term care settings. She holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work, a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree in Social Work, and is also a Certified Social Work Practice Teacher.
For the past 15 years, the delivery of quality client-centered services has represented the cornerstone of the Essentially You Inc philosophy. Our PSW services are grounded in the dedicated work of a skilled, professional, and culturally diverse team.
Maxine’s commitment to the MVA rehabilitation community is further demonstrated within her role as an Ontario Rehabilitation (ORA) board member. Maxine has provided education, presentations, and webinars on key topics including; PPE, best practice case studies, and inclusion and diversity. Maxine also played an instrumental advocacy role with the ORA in the successful Attendant Care rate lobbying with FSCO.
Essentially You Inc are committed to giving back to the community through fundraising and volunteering. Maxine is an avid marathon runner and uses her passion for long-distance running through proactive involvement in fundraising events that support brain injury community organizations.
