Emilie Morin

Emilie is honoured to be nominated for the 2025 Awards of Excellence in Brain Injury Rehabilitation as a Hospital Social Worker.

Emilie is a Social Worker at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, where she has supported children and teens with acquired brain injuries and their families for the past 4.5 years. She currently also works casually at St. Michael’s Hospital, supporting patients and families in the ICU departments. Emilie holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University), a Master of Social Work with a specialization in children and families from the University of Toronto, and a certification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Before joining Holland Bloorview, Emilie spent two years at Scarborough Health Network, providing social work support across the NICU, Pediatrics, and Maternity units.

In her current role at Holland Bloorview, Emilie provides emotional support, advocacy, and resource navigation for children with acquired brain injuries and their families, working as part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team. She is passionate about supporting families through the rehabilitation process, helping them navigate the complexities of the healthcare system, and creating a space for open and honest conversations.

Emilie has worked alongside the Bloorview Research Institute to co-facilitate a group for caregivers of children with persistent concussion symptoms, helping to address gaps in service and offer peer support.

She is also actively involved in hospital-wide initiatives, including the Quality and Safety Committee and Indigenous Health. Emilie has contributed to policy development focused on improving care experiences for Indigenous clients and families, and is deeply committed to supporting transformative change so that Indigenous Peoples receive high-quality, culturally safe care.
