Cindy Miller

Nominated For: CASE MANAGER OF THE YEAR

I am deeply honoured to be nominated for the 2025 Ontario Brain Injury Association Case Manager Award of Excellence in Brain Injury Rehabilitation. As the owner of CIM Rehabilitation Consulting, I have dedicated my career to supporting individuals with brain injuries, working in this field since 1999.

My academic background includes a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario (1993), the Sports Injury Management program at Sheridan College, and certification as a Canadian Athletic Therapist. I have also completed the Life Care Planning program through the International Commission of Health Care Certification (ICHCC) and the Advanced Brain Injury Rehabilitation certificate at Brock University.

Since 2012, I have been proud to serve with the Brain Injury Association of Waterloo Wellington, where I currently sit as Past Chair. This role has given me the privilege of learning from and connecting with inspiring survivors, families, and volunteers who form the heart of our community.

In my professional work, I have been fortunate enough to share the journey with individuals who have sustained serious injuries, helping them develop personalized rehabilitation plans and goals. I value the collaboration it takes to bring together a team of professionals to provide the best possible support, and I remain committed to empowering people to achieve meaningful progress in their recovery. While I am grateful for this nomination, I am truly inspired by the dedication and passion of all the professionals that I have worked with over the years!

Cindy is one of the most dedicated, compassionate, and hardworking professionals I have had the privilege of working with. She goes above and beyond to support her clients and their families, ensuring that every detail of their care is coordinated with thoughtfulness and precision. What makes Cindy truly stand out is her ability to combine professionalism with genuine kindness—she advocates fiercely for her clients while also offering them empathy, encouragement, and reassurance during some of their most difficult times. As a colleague, Cindy is an incredible collaborator who makes the entire rehabilitation team stronger through her communication, organization, and unwavering commitment to client-centered care. She is a true inspiration, and I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this recognition.
