Carrington is honoured to be nominated for the Case Manager of the Year Award of Excellence in Brain Injury Rehabilitation.

Holding both an Honours Bachelor of Social Work and a Master of Social Work, Carrington brings a strong academic foundation and unwavering commitment to her work. Over the last several years, she has been dedicated to supporting individuals, families, and caregivers affected by brain injury through compassionate, client-centred case management.

As a Case Manager with Abilities Rehabilitation, Carrington is recognized for her exceptional care coordination, collaborative approach, and steadfast advocacy.

Much of her work focuses on Northern communities, where limited access to specialized services requires creativity, persistence, and strong interdisciplinary partnerships to ensure clients receive the care and supports they need.

Carrington guides clients through the complex medical, physical, emotional, and social challenges of brain injury, developing individualized plans that reflect each person’s unique goals and circumstances. She works closely with various rehabilitation providers including physicians, rehabilitation professionals, therapists, community providers, and families to coordinate seamless, integrated care that promotes meaningful recovery and improved quality of life.

An experienced systems navigator, Carrington helps clients access rehabilitation services, insurance benefits, and community resources while advocating for timely, equitable care. She is passionate about advancing best practices in brain injury rehabilitation and improving access to services for underserved and rural communities, ensuring her clients’ voices are heard throughout their recovery journey.

Beyond her clinical work, Carrington is an active member of the Brain Injury Association of Sudbury and District (BIASD) where she facilitates a monthly caregiver support group. Through this role, she provides caregivers with a welcoming space to connect, learn, and support one another while fostering resilience and community.

Carrington extends her gratitude to OBIA and PIA Law for this recognition. She also thanks her clients, whose resilience and trust continue to inspire her, as well as the colleagues and healthcare professionals who have supported and collaborated with her throughout her career. She is honoured to be recognized alongside such accomplished leaders in the field of brain injury rehabilitation.
