Carrington is honoured to be nominated for the Case Manager of the Year Award of Excellence in Brain Injury Rehabilitation.
She holds an Honours Bachelor of Social Work degree and a Master of Social Work, bringing a strong academic foundation to her practice. For over five years, Carrington has demonstrated a deep commitment to supporting individuals, families, and caregivers impacted by brain injury.
As a Case Manager with Abilities Rehabilitation, Carrington has developed a reputation for exceptional care coordination, consistent advocacy, and a holistic, client-centred approach to recovery, particularly within Northern communities. These regions often face significant barriers to care, requiring creativity, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a persistent drive to bridge systemic gaps in service delivery.
Carrington guides clients through the complex medical, emotional, physical, and social challenges that accompany brain injury. Her work is grounded in clinical expertise and empathetic communication, ensuring each individual receives personalized support and access to the resources they need to achieve their recovery goals.
She embraces an innovative and collaborative approach, working closely with multidisciplinary teams that include physicians, therapists, social workers, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and family members to deliver truly integrated care.
Carrington is also skilled at navigating complex systems such as insurance, rehabilitation programs, and community services, ensuring her clients can access the supports they need in a timely and effective manner. Throughout her career, she has remained a passionate advocate for both client empowerment and professional development. She contributes to advancing best practices in brain injury care and actively champions the needs of underserved communities, striving to amplify the voices of her clients and push for equitable access to care and resources.
Carrington is an active member of the Brain Injury Association of Sudbury and District, where she facilitates a monthly caregiver support group offering a safe and supportive space for caregivers to connect, learn, and collaborate.
