Barbara Ibbitson and Associates has provided quality Social Work support to individuals, couples, families, and groups impacted by brain injury. Although I started this practice on my own, the demand grew and I now have seven associates all with various specialties and backgrounds, and the same passion to help individuals with brain injury.

We pride ourselves in having strong advocacy skills, not only for our clients, but also within the systems and the communities that we work. What we know about brain injury is that when one person is affected, the whole family is impacted. Our specialty is providing psychoeducation and counselling support for our clients and their family members. We liaise with other rehabilitation service providers to ensure that our clients are receiving optimal support for their recovery.

For the past 5 years, we have been providing Mindfulness-Based Trauma and Recovery Groups for clients and caregivers impacted by brain injury, trauma, and pain. Clients embrace Mindfulness practice and report that it has made an impact on daily life.

We practice with integrity, intellect, strength and support for one another. We are passionate about providing best practice service to our clients, and take part in many educational endeavors through conferences and workshops.
