Alison Andress

Nominated For: CASE MANAGER OF THE YEAR

Alison is the owner and clinical director of Renew Rehab Inc. She has been working with families and supporting adults and children with traumatic injuries since 2008 and currently provides case management services throughout Northern Ontario. Alison graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2000 and is currently a Registered Kinesiologist in good standing with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario. She is also a member in good standing with the Ontario Kinesiology Association. Alison has been a Canadian Certified Life Care Planner through the International Commission of Health Care Certification (ICHCC) since 2010. She has also obtained specialized training in functional evaluations and completes these throughout her community on a regular basis. Alison is committed to lifelong learning and continues to attend and participates in various educational conferences and seminars, both in person and online, to remain up to date with current research and advancements in the field of rehabilitation.

Alison firmly believes in working closely with her clients, families, caregivers and rehabilitation teams (including legal and insurers) to support the client’s personal goals. She truly cares about her clients and believes that communication and collaboration are vital to the rehabilitation process.

Alison’s extensive case management experience includes working with individuals with traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, multiple orthopaedic injuries, psychiatric challenges, amputations, chronic pain and substance use challenges.

Alison has been an active volunteer in her community throughout her career, including coordinating a fundraising golf tournament supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities and the Food Bank of Waterloo Region, co-coordinating the HABIT North golf tournament and acting as a board member and treasurer of the Sault Ste. Marie and District Brain Injury Association (BIASSMD), as well as volunteering at her children’s schools and at various community events (i.e.: RotaryFest). Renew Rehab Inc. is a proud sponsor of a number of children’s soccer teams as well as a competitive ninja team.
