BARTIMAEUS REHABILITATION SERVICES INC.

Nominated For: 2016 COMMUNITY BRAIN INJURY ASSOCIATION OF THE YEAR

For over 28 years, Bartimaeus Rehabilitation Services have been providing direct therapy, transitional support and community integration to children, youth, adults and seniors recovering from an acquired brain injury and/or serious trauma.

The service has developed over many years, originally offered in a children’s rehabilitation hospital, into one where we work in a variety of settings with clients of all ages who typically have sustained an acquired brain injury and/or serious trauma. From our very first client until today, our rehabilitation service has provided over 2 million hours of support to thousands of individuals and their families, with a strong focus on supporting individuals with the most extreme behavioural challenges as a result of their injuries.

Our services are offered in 30 different languages, ensuring communication and treatment is provided in our client’s language of choice.

We have developed and manage a pool of the most knowledgeable and experienced Rehabilitation Support Workers in the Province of Ontario, who place the client’s interests and needs at the centre of all of our work, ensuring the very best match between the individual requiring support and the Rehabilitation Support Worker. All of our Rehabilitation participate in extensive training with the Ontario Brain Injury Association.

Our services are delivered province-wide, ensuring cost-efficient support and knowledge of local resources, assisting our clients in dealing with the challenges of their own environment and enabling them to achieve positive outcomes and the very best recovery possible.

We are a strong supporter of the Ontario Rehab Alliance and have been active in the initial development and ongoing work as it is extremely important to us as an organization to ensure that clients and their families receive the resources and treatment that has been allocated to them.
