Lauren is the owner and director of Okell Rehabilitation Services Inc., an occupational therapy and case management company treating individuals who have sustained significant injuries. Okell Rehabilitation Services believes that through empowerment and education, clients will be able to reach their goals following a motor vehicle accident.

She is an Occupational Therapist, registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario and a member of the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists. She is qualified and registered to practice in the province of Ontario.

She graduated from The University of Western Ontario with an Honours Specialization Degree in Psychology. She continued her education at Queen’s University where she completed her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy. Lauren has been practicing in the field of traumatic brain injury for over 12 years.

Lauren is trained in the Progressive Goal Attainment Program (PGAP) intervention and received a certificate from OISE in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. She regularly attends courses, seminars and conferences to update her skills and expertise in assessment, rehabilitation and therapeutic intervention.

Lauren presented at the 2018 Toronto ABI Network Conference and the 2019 13th World Congress on Brain Injury Association (IBIA) on females and the injured brain. This presentation included information about research and evidence based treatment approaches for females who have sustained traumatic brain injuries. It is her passion to bring a greater understanding to treating professionals about the impact of brain injury and the differences in recovery based on gender.

In addition to providing occupational therapy and case management treatment to individuals who have sustained traumatic brain injuries, Lauren has also received certification through the American Board of Forensic Professionals in the 4th Edition of the AMA guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment. In addition, she is a Canadian Certified Life Care Planner.

She is well known in the industry for being a strong advocate for all her clients and providing client centered care. She wears many hats as educator, case manager, clinician and one on one proponents to ensure the highest level of care for her clients.
